About CaribTools

Built for the islands

CaribTools started with a simple observation: most money and lifestyle calculators are built for New York, London or Toronto — and it shows. Exchange rates for a whole region get squeezed into one dropdown, rent figures have nothing to do with a Kingston duplex, and remittance fees are ones nobody in the diaspora recognises.

So we built our own toolkit, one island at a time. Every calculator on this site is made with Caribbean money rhythms, Caribbean customs rules and Caribbean geography in mind — for Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, the Bahamas, Guyana, Dominica, St. Kitts, Grenada, Antigua and the wider Eastern Caribbean.

What we care about

  • Honest numbers. Every figure is labelled as an estimate or a reference rate — never silently "official".
  • Speed on slow connections. No heavy frameworks and no giant scripts. The site loads fast even on a shared phone plan.
  • Privacy by default. No accounts to create, no tracking walls. Everything runs in your own browser.

How the tools work

All calculators run locally in your browser using built-in reference data and transparent formulas. We keep the assumptions visible, so you always know what a result actually means — and where to confirm it before a big decision.

Disclaimer

CaribTools provides estimates for planning and education. It is not legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and it is not affiliated with any government customs agency, citizenship programme or bank. Always confirm figures with the relevant authorities.
